Nike Studio Pack (Shoe Wrap) Review for Pilates, Barre, Yoga and Ballet workouts.

There is nothing more irritating then sliding all over the place, when we're trying to do our Yoga, Pilates, Barre or Ballet workouts.

I was tired of sliding all over the place as I did my downward facing dog, or planks. One day as I was reading my Yoga magazine they had an ad for The Nike Studio Pack.
(I knew if it came from Nike, it had to be good.)
I immediately went to their website and saw a video from the creator/inventor of the Studio Wrap Shoe. She explained how and why she came about creating the Shoe.

I went to the Nike store at the Outlet mall and they were selling for $79. I wanted it them so bad, (Me and another lady were looking at them) but the price was steep.
I went back two weeks later and they were on SALE! I got them for $37 including tax!
(They do sell the Shoe Wrap by itself at the outlet mall for about that price.)
Amazon  sells them for $55

The wrap comes with a well constructed slipper. It is made of sturdy spandex or what seems to be neoprene. It reminds me of what a diver might wear or the black shorts people wear to lose excess water.
When you slip on the shoe wrap, it hugs your foot very nicely, giving you a nice compression.

There is nice padding on the side of the big toe, where the bone meets the foot. I love that because a lot of the times shoes are snug there. The back of the shoe wraps nicely on the achilles heel. They are very, very comfortable.
There is also cushioning on the heel.

The bottom of the shoe has a non-slip-grip. When I do my poses, I'm not sliding all over the place and my foot isn't sliding on the inside! Love that.

Because the back of the wrap sits high on the heel/ankle, I'm also able to wrap my foot around the barre, and able to put my heel, ankle portion on the barre to do the stretches without having my bone feeling the barre.

The ballet slippers that come with the Studio Pack are very well constructed. There is padding on the heel and the back of the shoe, the achilles section sits high, and nicely snug, (It does not cut or irritate the back of the ankle.) The material of that section of the shoe feels very soft like faux suede.

Overall I love this shoe wrap, it really helps me. It gives me nice support along with a nice compression on and around my foot. I have flat feet and broke my arch, so this helps make a lot of the poses tolerable. (I'm not saying that it will alleviate it 100%, but it makes me tolerate the poses, which is something I wasn't able to do before. I would have to roll tennis balls under my feet as soon as I was done with Pilates or any Barre workouts. Now, I don't have to.)

Fitting: I went up half a size. I'm a 9 and bought a 9.5.

I'm in no ways associated with Nike, and this is my own personal opinion, and my review on this product.
So Nike if you read this, "Please make something for the hands!"

You may purchase the Nike Studio Wrap on their website, store, Ebay or Amazon.
Amazon has them for about $100.

First week of starting my weight loss.

Hello everyone,

My name is Carmen and I've decided that it's time for me to lose the weight I've gained! I'm gonna post and share my weight loss tips, recipes, suggestions, products and product reviews on Blogger and YouTube.
YouTube: http://bit.ly/CarmensLosingItTogetherYouTube

I've recently gained about 50 lbs, and I've had enough! My husband is a truck driver and all the truck stops seem to be anti-healthy eating. All they have is junk food, so I quickly gained weight. My sister took a picture of me and posted it on Facebook, and my father posted the following comment; "Lay off the chips" and my uncle posted, "It looks like you like to eat". (My official WAKE UP call!}

So last week I decided enough, was enough and so I started making healthier choices. Some of the truck stop or gas stations do offer salads, so I started eating salads last week. I'm starting to make slow changes, and decided to share my progress with all of you on the internet.

I know that in order to lose weight I need to stop eating processed food because they contain so many fillers, sugars and God knows what. I've also come to the realization that all the food that's good for you is away from the center of the food isles. The produce, meats, dairy are all around the perimeter of the grocery stores, and all the processed foods in the center. I've also realized that over half of my food potions should contain veggies, especially the green ones, 30% should be my protein (about 4 oz per serving,) and lastly 20% should be my healthy grains, carbs or more vegetables.

Exercise Work-out
I also started doing the Barre3 work out by, Sadie Lincoln. Her series is available on QVC for $36.60 plus $6.72 shipping at the time I wrote this Blog. She gives you the option on the sixth day to go to her Barre3 site and chose a 10-60 minute Barre3 workouts, (I have BarreAmped and I'll be doing that one on the 6th day.) I'll also be doing 2 days of cardio for 30 minutes

The cravings kick in!
I'm on my 3rd day, and so far so good. My family was craving Whataburger. It's good to indulge and have a cheat day, but not go overboard. So, I turned my Whataburger Patty Melt, into a healthier choice. I took the top bread off and added spinach, tomatoes, pickles, and jalapenos and skipped on the french fries.

Snacks I've taken so far:
I've snacked on 100 calorie popcorn or oatmeal when I crave a snack, especially after my cardio workout. I don't want to undo my hard work, so I snack on oatmeal.

Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade
I'm currently taking 1 tbsp. of Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade,  2 - 3 times a day, with water. One of the benefits of Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade is weight loss, but I'm  not taking it to lose weight, I'm taking it for the silica which is good for the body.
